A dark comedy short
"Joshua" is the story of a young woman on the brink of sexual discovery who develops an unconventional relationship with her AI vibrator. Written by, directed by, and starring Liz Valoon, this project is currently in the 2025/2026 film festival circuit.
Its world premiere was at the Indie Film Las Vegas Festival in April 2025 where it won Best Comedy Short, and its Los Angeles premiere was held at the Chinese Theater for the Silicon Beach Film Festival in September. Its next screening will be online for the Austin Indie Fest at the end of February.

ABOUT LIZ
Elizabeth "Liz" Valoon is a writer, actress, and director based in Los Angeles, California. She was born and raised outside Fort Worth, Texas and was the president of her high school theatre department.
She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2017 with a bachelor's degree in Radio-Television-Film and a minor in English Literature. While at UT she wrote and performed on a sketch comedy show, a web series, and an improv troupe. Since moving to Los Angeles, Liz has written for various YouTube and Tik Tok creators, worked on multiple large-scale projects, and produces her own projects.
She continues to write, act, direct, and produce in Los Angeles. Her latest project, a dark comedy short film titled “Joshua”, is set to premiered in 2025, and she's set to direct her next short "I'm Fine" in 2026.
