ABOUT
Elizabeth "Liz" Valoon is a writer, actress, and director based in Los Angeles, California. She was born and raised outside Fort Worth, Texas and was the president of her high school theatre department. Liz grew up playing soccer, writing short stories for fun, loved going to the movies, and spent every Saturday night watching SNL with her family.
She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2017 with a bachelor's degree in Radio-Television-Film and a minor in English Literature. While at UT she wrote and performed on the sketch comedy show Longhorn LateNight, acted in the web series The Quarter Lifers, and performed with UT's only long-form comedy improv troupe "Snafu." Her focuses in school were screenwriting, producing, and animation.
Since moving to Los Angeles, Liz has written for various YouTube and Tik Tok creators, including Hannah Stocking, Lele Pons, Cost’n’Mayor, and more. She wrote the 2019 Facebook comedy series The Set Up starring Hannah Stocking, which has amassed over 2 million views. She has also worked on multiple large-scale projects including Kids Say the Darndest Things (CBS), Clifford the Big Red Dog (Paramount), Willow (Lucasfilm/Disney), and the cancelled Degrassi reboot (HBO Max/WB).
She's passionate about stories that highlight the female experience, make people laugh, help people escape from the stress of their daily lives, make people think, and just plainly entertain. Her favorite movies are Lady Bird, Jurassic Park, and Barb and Star Go To Vista Del Mar. Her favorite television shows are Pen15, Desperate Housewives, The Good Place, and Gilmore Girls.
She continues to write, act, direct, and produce. Her latest project, a dark comedy short film titled Joshua, premiered at the Vegas Indie Film Festival in April 2025 and is finishing up its 2026 festival circuit. In 2026 she is also set to direct the short film I'm Fine, written by and starring Zack Martin, which focuses on mental health issues.
